From a “hot chocolate doc” who makes house calls to hot chocolate infused with green chiles, Four Seasons definitely knows how to put the “haute” in hot chocolate. Warm up with one of these satisfyingly rich and delicious treats.

Chicago
The “Hot Chocolate Doc” is dedicated staff member who is on call with the cure for those blustery Windy City winter nights. Now until spring, the Hot Chocolate Doc makes “house calls” to guest rooms serving up steamy cups from the mobile hot chocolate bar. Decked with assorted flavors of marshmallow crèmes, caramel drizzle, chocolate fudge, cinnamon cotton candy, sprinkles and more, kids can build their own delicious cold weather remedy. And for adults, the doctor delivers shots of peppermint and cinnamon schnapps and butternut rum, turning hot chocolate into a hot toddy.

Boston
Cocoa on the Go is a pop-up hot chocolate shop featuring housemade hot chocolate – plus a special flavour of the day – paired with a variety of all-you-can-eat topping choices ranging from caramel, coconut and rich chocolate shavings to peppermint and whipped cream. The shop is open from 2:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday – Saturday afternoons in the lobby.

Lanai, Hawaii
The Great Hall at The Lodge at Koele is the site of a specialty hot chocolate service, which uses only the finest Valrhona chocolates. Guests choose dark, milk or white chocolate, as well as which type of milk and toppings, creating a fireside hot chocolate experience like no other.

Enjoy one of the adult “haute chocolates” on the menu at EDGE. Favourites include the “Sleigh Ride,” with hazelnut, Disaronno and Jack Daniel’s, and the “Snow Bird” with lavender milk, Stoli Chocolat and Frangelico. For the kids (or non-imbibers) two traditional options are available—the “Frostbite” with vanilla beans and raspberry sauce, and the “Gingerbread Man” with gingersnap crumbles.

Punta Mita, Mexico
Take a special chocolate workshop and discover how the Olmecs and the Mayans were the first to cultivate cacao, known as “xocolatl.” First, get a brief explanation about the history of cacao in Mesoamerica and its journey to Europe, where it developed into what we know as chocolate today. Next, learn about the manufacturing process and chocolate’s medicinal properties. Finish with a tasting of Azteca hot chocolate, Champurrado Mexican chocolate, chocolate syrup, and white and dark chocolate chips.

The chocolate syrup blend is made in house and the drink is available hot or iced.

Seattle
Get cozy at the property’s outdoor fireplace, with views of Elliott Bay and the Seattle Great Wheel, with a pot of hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows and whipped cream.

Santa Fe
For hot chocolate with a kick, try a special green chile hot chocolate for the holiday season, available at Terra. Green chile is the largest crop grown in New Mexico, so what better way to honour it than making it apart of the festive season?
